FastPass
Disneyland
has a relatively new program that changes the way you experience
your favorite Disneyland attractions! It's called FastPass,
and here's how it works:
- Choose an attraction that accepts FastPass
and go to the FastPass Turnstile.
Each attraction has several turnstiles located near the
beginning of the ride's waiting line.
- Insert your Disneyland Passport
(your ticket from the Main Gate), your Flex-Pass
or Annual Pass
into the Turnstile, and a FastPass
is printed for you with a time stamp on it.
- Now go visit your other favorite Disneyland attractions;
FastPass reserves
a spot in line for you.
- Just report back to the attraction at the time stamped
on your FastPass,
and you will be admitted into a special FastPass
lane, where there is little or no waiting to access the
attraction.
Instead of waiting in line, FastPass
allows you to have fun other places. Your FastPass
reservation time usually will be about an hour after your FastPass
is issued. For example, if you get a FastPass
at Space Mountain at 3:00 PM, you will be allowed to enter the
special FastPass
lane at about 4:00 PM. The FastPass
is valid for up to one hour from your time stampmeaning
you have until 5:00 PM to report back at Space Mountain.
Sometimes, an attraction's regular (or "Stand-by") line is quite
long. In such cases, a FastPass
may not be useable until a few hours later. For example, if
you go to Splash Mountain at 3:00 PM, and the regular line has
a 2 hour wait, the time stamped on your FastPass
might be extended until 6:00 PM, or later.
The FastPass system
is intended to minimize crowding and congestion, improve accessibility
to popular attractions, and so, enhance every visitor's enjoyment
at the Magic Kingdom. Instead of waiting in line for up to 2
hours at a single attraction, the FastPass
usually reduces waiting time for the most popular rides and
attractions to 15 minutes or less.
A large clock near the FastPass
Turnstiles displays the current time, and the
time when you can return to enter the FastPass
lane.
Note that only one FastPass
can be used at a time. You cannot, for example, get a FastPass
at Space Mountain and then get another for
Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin before you have used your FastPass
for Space Mountain. A giant computer system
tracks every user's FastPass,
so it will block another FastPass
from being issued anywhere in the park before
the last pass is used. Amazing, isn't it?
It is a good idea to have your entire party present when you
get your FastPasses,
so every person in your group can get time stamps for FastPass
entry at the same time.
FastPass
is a really fun way to get more enjoyment out of your visit to Disneyland.
